Cyrenaica (Asteraceae) 2020-10-01T01:21:32+0530 Ghalia T Ghalia T El Rabiae Seham H. Elbadry
Bellis L. Belonging to the family Asteraceae and has been included in subtribe Asterinae (tribe Astereae). In the present work, the morphological characters, stem, petiole and leaf anatomy, pollen micromorphology of Endemic Bellis sylvestrisvar. cyrenaicafrom Libya has been investigated on light and scanning electron microscope. Bellis sylvestrisvar. cyrenaicais an endemic species from Libya and limited information about the native taxon. All morphological, anatomical, and palynological characteristics are firstly determined in this study. Palynology study showed that pollen characters were found medium size, oblate spheroidal, tricolporate, and echinate ornamentation of the studied taxon. Seed micromorphological features were also given.
2020-09-30T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2020 WERNICKES KORSAKOFF SYNDROME 2020-10-01T11:25:25+0530 Syam Prashanth Pedada Syam Prashanth Pedada Jyotsna Allamsetty Jyotsna Allamsetty Ujwala Mukthipudi Ujwala Mukthipudi
Wernickes korsakoff syndrome (WKS) is a combined disorder of Wernicke's encephalopathy and korsakoff psychosis which is a neurological disorder. Wernicke enchplaophaty and korsakoff psychosis are the acute and the chronic phase respectively, wernickes korsakoff syndrome is mostly observed in chronic alcoholism and rarely with non-alcoholics. It includes symptoms of diplopia, ophthalmoplegis, ataxia, retrograde and anterograde amnesia. It is easily diagnosed by a dietary deficiency, ocular abnormalities, cerebellar dysfunction, memory impairment.WKS also include gliosis and microhemorrhages in periaqueductal and paraventricular grey matter, atrophy in the mamillary bodies and thalamus, volume deficits in the hippocampus, cerebellar hemispheres, pons, and anterior superior vermis. In the early stages of the Wernicke's korsakoff can be preventable to the chronic stage irreversible stage of korsakoff psychosis by treating it with thiamine for few days and the improvement of the symptoms is observed after few weeks.
2020-09-30T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c)
